Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Zeichn (“Zeichn”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile application that offers a daily creative ritual: a curated quote, a finger sketch, and a community feed unlocked after you submit your drawing. The operator’s legal identity and contact details are listed in the Imprint.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Zeichn, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

3. Eligibility

You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live (and at least the minimum age required by Apple’s platform terms). If you use Zeichn on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation.

4. Accounts and authentication

Sign-in may be provided via Sign in with Apple or other methods we enable. You are responsible for safeguarding your device and Apple ID. Notify us via the contact in the Imprint if you suspect unauthorised access.

5. The Zeichn ritual

• Daily quote. A new quote is associated with each calendar day based on midnight in the Europe/Berlin timezone, as implemented in the app and backend.
• No peeking. Certain community content may be withheld until you submit your drawing for that day, as designed.
• Lock-in. After you confirm submission, your drawing for that day may be stored and displayed without an in-app edit or delete flow. Do not submit anything you are not comfortable sharing.
• Reactions. Emoji reactions may be available; abusive use may lead to enforcement under Section 8.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of your drawings. To operate Zeichn, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your content solely to provide, secure, and improve the service — including showing your drawing to other users in the feed and in safety or moderation workflows.

You represent that your content does not violate applicable law or third-party rights and that you have all rights needed to grant the licence above.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, or harm others, or post unlawful, hateful, or sexual content involving minors.
• Circumvent security, probe systems without authorisation, or overload our infrastructure.
• Scrape or bulk-collect data from the service except as allowed by law or with our consent.
• Misrepresent your identity or manipulate reaction counts.

8. Moderation and enforcement

We may remove or restrict content or accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe pose risk to users or the service. We may use automated and human review, user reports, and third-party safety tools. We are not obligated to monitor all content.

9. Third-party services

Zeichn relies on infrastructure providers (for example Google Firebase / Apple) governed by their own terms. Their processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Quotes are curated for inspiration; they are not professional advice.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability arising out of these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) fifty euros (€50) or (b) the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (if any).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases our liability is limited to the minimum permitted by law.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

13. Termination

You may stop using Zeichn at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive will survive termination.

14. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Subject to mandatory consumer protection rules that cannot be waived in your country of residence, the courts of Luxembourg shall have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the service.
